Sex Therapy is a form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals and couples address issues related to relationships, intimacy and sexuality.

What is Sex Therapy?

Sex Therapists and Clinical Sexologists have extensive post-graduate education and specialized training in the fields of human sexuality, psychology and clinical mental health.

Joan is a Sex Therapist certified with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) which is a rigorous certification for Sex Therapy.

Sex is considered a powerful experience that can also create distress and shame when our expectations fall short, in addition to feeling uncomfortable with this topic even when we feel safe to share with our partners and physicians.
